Editorial note: The case against Robert “Bo” Wright has been expunged and records of the arrest and court actions have been removed from law enforcement and court agencies.

MARION COUNTY — Jurors in the felony theft case against former Salem Country Club manager Robert “Bo” Wright could not reach an agreement after more than six hours of deliberation.

Marion County Resident Judge Mark Stedelin declared a mistrial Thursday in the 2014 case charging Wright with Class 2 felony theft greater than $10,000 and less than $100,000 for cash and inventory allegedly missing from the country club for the period of his employment.

After more than two days of being shown evidence and hearing witness testimony, the jury was handed the case at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Around 2 p.m. they requested corporate minutes that had been entered into evidence, which was provided without objection.

At 4:20, p.m., the jury sent a note that they were locked and at 5 p.m. they were given instruction, which urges a jury to reach a verdict.

However, by 7:13 p.m. the jury announced it was still locked and Stedelin declared a mistrial and the jury was dismissed.

The case is now set for a January 13 pre-trial hearing, and the process starts over.

Wright remains free on $10,000 bond. A civil suit Wright has against the country club and its board members for damages exceeding $50,000 remains outstanding.

While a hearing in the civil case has not yet been scheduled, subpoenas in the case have been served to the country club and two of its board members.
