SALEM — The trustees of the Salem Fire Protection District have named David Duncan as its newest Fire Chief. The decision was made at the regular board meeting held Tuesday and announced on their Facebook page.

Duncan has been the department for 43 years, and has held the positions of firefighter, company lieutenant, communications officer, and assistant chief prior to be appointed chief.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, Jim Cerny was appointed Assistant Chief, and Steve Murphy and Greg Miler were named Deputy Assistant Chiefs.
