In July a Jefferson County jury found Sabrina Wheatley guilty on all counts of stealing more than $300,000 from Webber Township School District in Bluford.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office prosecuted Wheatley on the charges of Class X felony theft of government property in excess of $100,000, Class 3 felony official misconduct and two Class 4 felony counts of filing fraudulent tax returns.

The Class X charge has a mandatory sentencing of between 6 and 30 years in prison.

Following the jury’s verdict, Wheatley’s $25,000 cash bond was revoked and she was taken in to custody before being taken across to the Jefferson County Jail.

A pre-sentencing report has been filed with the court and a new sentencing date of November 1, has been set.

Assistant Attorney’s General Sandra Talbott and Alexis Overstreet presented evidence at trial showing Wheatley’s lifestyle in Florida with expenditures that included plastic surgery.
