Grade Separation Committee Chair Wants More Discussion With Businesses, Railroad Officials on New Possible Overpass Options

MT. VERNON — After a Mt. Vernon city council motion did not get seconded or acted on regarding the next step for the independent grade-separation committee and a proposed rail overpass, the committee’s chair is speaking out on where they go from here.

Mike Bullard, the committee’s chair and the village president of Bluford, says he agrees with city leaders that more discussion needs to be had with the railroad companies, but getting that discussion to happen is a tall task.

The grade separation committee is made up of Bullard, Jim Rippy, Ray Botch, Chris Collins, Jerry Shaw, and Anthony Patton.
