CENTRALIA — Donald G. Donahue, 89, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.
He is survived by two daughters: Vicki McGeehon and husband Arthur of Centralia and Kim Donahue of Centralia; two grandchildren: Heather McGeehon of Centralia and Josh Donahue and wife Richiah of Centralia; two great-grandchildren: Zach McGeehon and Arilyn McDonald both of Centralia; a brother-in-law: Mike Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Marilyn Donahue, and two sister-in-laws: Janet Neidbalski and Pat Ward.
Donald served in the Navy during the Korean war, after serving went to work for the Illinois State Police where he served 28 years and retired October 31, 1985. Donald enjoyed gardening and was an artist in his younger years. He also loved spending time with his family.
Funeral Services for Donald G. Donahue will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, at the First Apostolic Church with Pastor Jonathan Urshan officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, at the First Apostolic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Apostolic Church and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home 235 N. Sycamore St. Centralia, IL. 62801 who is honored to be of assistance to the Donahue family.
