EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A terror suspect from southern Illinois who was charged as a teenager will be transferred to a mental health facility after a judge found him unfit to stand trial.

Keaun Cook of Godfrey was 18 when he was accused in 2016of providing material support for terrorism and making a terroristic threat.

Cook’s grandmother said at the time that he had no legitimate contact with terrorist groups, but that he needed mental health treatment and was prone to psychotic episodes.

The (Alton) Telegraph reports that a judge recently found Cook unfit to stand trial and ordered him into Department of Human Services’ custody for treatment to help regain his fitness.

He’ll be moved from Madison County jail in Edwardsville, about 25 miles northwest of St. Louis, to a treatment center.
