He was born June 30, 1937 i,n Centralia, son of Harold E. Stewart, Sr., Ruby (Swartzlander) Stewart Zimmerman and his stepfather: Harry Zimmerman. He married Judy Wooden on January 27, 1962 at the Hickory Street Christian Church and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Judy Stewart of Centralia, he is also survived by a daughter: Debbie Petrea of Centralia; three grandsons: Jason Petrea, Jared Petrea and Justin Petrea; a niece: Chris of Springfield and a nephew: Brett of Springfield.
Harold was the past Chief of Police for Wamac for 30 plus years. He also served as the Superintendent of the Street Department for the City of Wamac. He enjoyed wood working, going to stock car races and fishing with his grandsons. Harold loved spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral Services for Harold E. Stewart, Jr. will be held AT 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
