Four rescued from crash into Bekemeyer floodwaters

CLINTON COUNTY — Clinton County officials are reporting the occupants of a vehicle that crashed Saturday afternoon info floodwater in Beckemeyer have been released from the hospital and are doing well.

Initial reports indicated that three children and one adult were rescued from a one-vehicle crash in which the occupants had been completely submerged in floodwater.

Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies, Beckemeyer Fire and Medstar responded to the scene and all four occupants were taken to the hospital. They were examined and released late Saturday night.

The crash came after heavy rains fell across the region leaving many roads flooded and impassable.
