Dorothy Uhls

picture-pubODIN — Dorothy Elizabeth Uhls, 86, of Odin died Friday, January 3, 2014 at her home.

She was born the daughter of Basil and Orilla Mae (Deadmond) Cummins on May 22, 1928 in Sandoval. She married Harold Gene Uhls on February 14, 1979 in Rural Odin. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2010.

Survivors include her daughter Judy Forrest and husband Bruce of La Porte, Texas; grandchildren Lora Guern, husband Jeff and Tim Lusch all of Odin, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special nephews Bob Day, Frankie Nelson, and Rick Wilmoth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, daughters Dorothy Jean and husband Kenneth Fields, Sr., Alice Susan Richmond; grandson Kenny Fields, Jr.; and great-grandson Zachary Lusch.

Dorothy lived in Sandoval most of her life. She was a cook for many area restaurants including owning her own. She was a member of the VFW. She enjoyed sewing, spending time outdoors; and especially at Gatch Lake.

Services will be held 5 p.m. Monday, at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Rev. Rick Wilmoth officiating.

A visitation will be held 3 – 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private family burial will follow at Deadmond Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Odin Fire Department.
