Genevieve Louise Snyder

picture-pubHIGHLAND – Genevieve Louise (Ward) Snyder, 84, of Fairman (Sandoval) passed away Jan. 9, 2014 at the Highland Health Care Center after a 13 year battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born on March 21, 1929 in Huey, the daughter of Lester Earl and Louise (Tolka) Ward. She married F. Tracy Snyder at the Vernon Methodist Church on Sept. 4th, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1991.

Since her marriage, Genevieve was a former seamstress, entrepreneur, and farmer’s housewife. During her life she in influenced many young lives as a leader of the Fairman Fairmanettes 4-H club and as a witness to Christ, was a member of the Fairman Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday school for many years.

Those she left behind include three children, Sandra Wilson and husband Loren of Eldorado, Mark Snyder and wife Gwen of Sandoval, and Timothy Snyder and wife Lapurisima of Hoffman; eight grandchildren, Michael, Jon, Tracie Ann, Alexsis, Bridgette, Jessica, Joseph and Jamie; and five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Lindsay, Elyse and Kaylee and the countless lives she touched.

Funeral services for Genevieve Louise Snyder will be held at 2 p.m Sunday at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday, at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.

Memorials may be made to the Fairman Baptist Church and will be received by the Day Macz Funeral Home.
