Norman Edward Spinner, 87, of Sandoval passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at Odin Health Care Center. He was born the son of Andrew & Marie (Grawe) Spinner on December 16, 1925 in Central City. He married Betty Lucille Groff on January 29, 1955 in Sandoval. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2002.
Survivors include 5 children: James Spinner of Arleta, California; Stephen Spinner, and wife Susan of Centralia; Peggy Spinner of Sandoval; Karen Spinner of Sandoval; Vincent Spinner, and wife Denise of Sandoval; 5 grandchildren: Ryan Quick, Seth Spinner, Bryce Spinner, Shelbie Spinner, and Hailey Spinner; one sister Lucille McClelland of Centralia; 3 sister-in-laws Evelyn Spinner of Sandoval, Carol Groff of Centralia, and Margaret Mainer, husband Mike of Odin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew & Marie, 3 brothers Ernest, Ralph, and Raymond Spinner; brother-in-law Phillip Groff; and son-in-law Kent Quick.
Norman loved taking care of his grandchildren and spending time with them. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed playing the guitar at the local Oprys. Norman liked playing cards, playing pool, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Norman loved visiting with his many friends and family at Bill’s Café.
Norman was a farmer and a delivery man for Donnewald Distributing.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sandoval with Father Justin Olisaemeka officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandoval Fire Department or the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
