KINMUNDY — Phyllis Ann Ott, 92, of Kinmundy, died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013,, at her home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Bridgeport, Neb., the daughter of George and Ora (Fairhairn) Newkirk, who preceded her in death. She married Lloyd Ott, Sept. 21, 1940, in Harrisburg, ND., and he preceded her in death Jan. 24, 2005.
Mrs. Ott is survived by sons, Jack L. Ott and wife Lora, of Shelton, Wash., Robert A. Ott and wife Susan of Auburn, Wash., and Jon L. Ott and wife Mary, of Cheyenne, Wy.; daughter Terri L. Miller and husband Ed of Kinmundy; brother Douglas H. Newkirk and wife Dutchie, of Bridgeport, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and son, she was preceded in death by her son Randy D. Ott.
Mrs. Ott was an educator with Morril County schools in Nebraska. She taught in a one-room school house with students from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.
Cremation rites will be accorded per her wishes and memorial service will be held at a later date in Redington Cemetery in rural Redington, Neb.
