Rev. Loyce Edward Howle

Howle Loyce EdwardCENTRALIA — Rev. Loyce Edward Howle, 82, of Centralia, went to be with his Lord at 12:56 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.

He was born April 11, 1931 in Poplarville, Mo., the son of Loyce E. and Mary Caroline (Fly) Howle.

He married Elsie Marie Russell on Sept. 4, 1954 in Hernando, Mo., and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, Rev. Howle is survived by his three sons Jerry A Howle and wife Kathy of Casper, WY, Mark R. Howle and wife Lisa of Indianapolis, and Paul E. Howle also of Indianapolis; daughter Carolyn Frey and husband Dennis of Montevallo, Ala.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Jesse Howle and wife Pansy; and sister Mary LeHew all of Jonesboro, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Richard Howle.

Rev. Howle was a member of the Baker Street Baptist Church. He loved tending to his farm and tinkering with his farm equipment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished the time he spent with his family. Rev. Howle graduated in 1961 from the Clear Creek Bible Baptist College in Pineville, KY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict.

As part of his ministry, he pastored churches in Northern Illinois and Iowa. He retired in 1993 as a maintenance supervisor with Graphics Packaging in Centralia, after 25 years of service. He lived in Centralia since 1978.

A Going Home Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the Baker Street Baptist in Walnut Hill, with Rev. Donald R. Bingham officiating.

Friends are asked to go to the directly to the church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rev. Howle’s honor to the Baker Street Baptist Church in Walnut Hill, and will be received at the Moran Queen~Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia.
