Chad Travis Lidisky, of Belleville, has been formally charged in Clinton County court with two counts Class 3 felony theft under $500; Class 2 felony aiding, abetting, possessing, or selling a stolen vehicle; and three counts Class 2 felony burglary.
According to Clinton County State’s Attorney John Hudspeth, the charges stem from alleged incidents on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, in St. Rose, during which vehicles were taken, and another vehicle was entered and items taken.
Marion County authorities are seeking to have Lidisky charged in connection with the Christmas Eve armed robbery of the Casey’s General Store in Sandoval.
Sheriff’s investigators say two men entered the Casey’s store during the early morning hours, one armed with a handgun and the other with a police issued Taser apparently stolen during a vehicle burglary of a car belonging to an off-duty police officer in Collinsville. The two are accused of taking money as well as cigarettes and chewing tobacco.
Lidisky was the first brought in under an investigative hold just before 3 a.m. Saturday, but was ultimately placed under arrest and charged Sunday night.
Judge William Becker set bail for Lidisky at $50,000, appointed him a public defender and scheduled a January 14 first appearance in the case. If he is able to post bond, Lidisky is prohibited from having contact with the alleged victims, or an an unnamed juvenile.
