He was born on May 22, 1951 in Anna, the son of Eddie, Sr. and Stella (Foster) Cottone. He married Judy Ring on August 6, 1983 in Centralia, and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, Mr. Cottone is survived by his children Stephanie Cartier of Connecticut, Michael Cottone and wife Hollie, Scott Cottone, and Lauren Niermann and husband Tim, all of Centralia; six grandchildren Robert, William, Sarah, Isaac, Micah and Saphyre; mother Stella Cottone of Anna; brother Eddie Cottone, Jr. and wife Beverly of Arkansas; sister Dixie Georgantas and husband Chris of Carbondale; aunt Lucy Sprague of Marion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Cottone was preceded in death by his father Eddie Cottone, Sr.; granddaughter Gracie Niermann; and uncles Tom Sprague and Charles Cottone.
Mr. Cottone was a member of the Grace Church in Centralia, where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany while serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict from January 5, 1971 until December 17, 1973. His passion in life was spending time with family, loving on his grandkids and riding his motorcycles. He enjoyed attending demolition derbies, stock car races and tractor pulls. He liked to go water skiing. He was looking forward to the birth of his eighth grandchild.
Mr. Cottone was a leadman and welder at American Equipment and Machine, Inc. (AEMI) in Centralia, for two years. He was previously was a journeyman and millwright at Cambridge/Meridian in Centralia, and was a coal miner, repairman and underground E.M.T. for the Monterey Coal Mines for 26 years. He has lived in Centralia, for most of his life.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2014 at Grace Church in Centralia, with Pastor Alan D. Nollman officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, with Military Honors accorded by members of the U.S. Army, Centralia American Legion Post 446 and V.F.W. Post 2055.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Mr. Cottone’s memory to the Little Bit of Haven and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral home in Centralia.
