Flora PD investigating vandalism at high school

FLORA — According to the Flora Police Department, around 7:30 Thursday night, an officer on patrol noticed the dumpsters at Flora High School were on fire.

The Flora Fire Department was dispatched and extinguished the fires, with smoke and soot on the brick exterior of the building the only reported damage.

However, upon further inspection it was noted that unknown suspect(s) had entered the school building and posters had been torn down. No other damage was reported.

The police department is following up on leads and an investigation is ongoing.
