DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Maurice Lee Cox, 90, of Dyersburg, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was a retired employee for Loeb Oil Company. He was a member of First Christian Church and the American Legion. Mr. Cox was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, where he served in the South Pacific.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Day-Macz Funeral Home in Patoka. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Patoka.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Day-Macz Funeral Home in Patoka.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Bopp Cox of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a daughter, Shelly Hilton and husband, Butch, of Sandoval; a son, Steve Cox and wife, Terri, of Salem; two step-sons, Samuel Bopp and wife, Danise, of Dyersburg, and Jack Bopp and wife, Marilyn, of Cumming, Ga.; ten grandchildren including Stephanie Hilton-Siebert, husband Ronder of Sandoval, Tim Hilton, wife Amber of Centralia, and Tara McGhee, husband Larry of Salem; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Myrtle Hopkins Cox; three brothers, Wayne Cox, John Cox and James Max Cox; seven sisters, Letta Hopkins, Ora Cox, Marie Reed, Lucile Maliongas, Alece Cox, Elaine Osborne and Charlotte Cox; two grandsons, Christopher Cox and Aaron Cox; and a step-son, Jerry Bopp.
