Page, Robert 2EFFINGHAM — Robert Gordon Page, 86, of Effingham, and formerly of Centralia, passed away at 11:59 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at his home.

Masonic services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich. Funeral services celebrating Robert’s life will follow with Jim Davidson officiating.

Burial will be in Scott Cemetery in Winterrowd, with full military rites. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In loving memory of Robert, memorials may be made to the St. Anthony’s Hospice or Shriners Childrens Hospital.

Robert was born on April 3, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of Robert Milton and Nellie (Brotherton) Page. He married June (Comstock) Douthit on June 10, 2000 in Effingham, and she survives.

Robert served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines and on May 17, 1946 he joined the Army Air Force and was honorably discharged on December 19, 1947.

Robert was a crane operator for many years and an iron worker. He was a member of the Midwest Operating Engineers and Iron Workers Union Local 75.

Robert was a life member of the Winterrowd Masonic Lodge #664; life member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Southern Illinois; life member of Shriners International; life member of American Legion Post #120; life member of the Operating Engineers Squad Club and a member of the Grand Order of the Sword of Bunker Hill Betsy Ross Order No 30 Benton, Illinois.

Robert’s favorite hobbies were bowling and dancing.

Robert is survived by his wife of 14 years, June Douthit-Page of Effingham; two children, Linda Hohmeyer of Centralia, and Helen Beth (Charles) Davis of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four step-children, Rick Tibbs of West Frankfort, Cheryl Collins and husband David, of Sullivan, Ken Douthit and wife Tammy of Altamont, and Dennis Douthit and wife Carla of Effingham;

grandchildren,  Brittany Kleiboeker and husband Jeffrey, Melissa Gebke and husband Adam, and Alexander  Hohmeyer and wife Kortney, all of Carlyle, Eric Davis and wife Heeju of Provo, Utah, Stephanie Davis, David Davis and Stephen Davis all of Independence, Mo., and Kelly Cole and husband Ryan, of Broken Arrow, Okla.;

step-grandchildren,  Tyler Tibbs of Tualatin Oregon, Mandy Still and husband Terry of Sullivan, Ryan Collins and special friend Kesley, of Sullivan,Casandra Stroll and husband Aaron of Beauford, South Carolina, Damon Douthit of Altamont,  Brittney Koester and husband Andrew of Altamont,  Lance Douthit and wife Crystal of Dieterich, Josh Douthit and wife Wllison, of Effingham, Riley Douthit of Effingham, and Briana Kade and husband Kevin, of Watson;

great-grandchildren, Brooke Kleiboeker, Jackson Kleiboeker, Wyatt Gebke, Yanghwan Davis, Brooklynn Davis, Olivia Davis, Grayson Cole and another expected in February 2015; step-great-grandchildren, Avery Still, Landry Still, Donovan Collins, Bostyn Collins, Aubury White, Savanna Koester, Jozlyn Haycraft, Kynzly Douthit, Kannyn Douthit, Taya Miller, Pacey Douthit, Rhett Douthit, Ryker Douthit, Corbin Douthit, Bryden Kade and Lylah Kade;

brother Wayne Page and wife Rita, of Mesa, Az; sister Barbara Rotcofkey of Elk Rapids, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Don Page.
