CENTRALIA — Mary Lou Claxton, age 76, of Centralia, passed away at 11:05 p.m., on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Centralia Fireside House in Centralia. Claxton pic

She was born on May 13, 1938 in Anna, the daughter of Harry and Ida (Davitz) Calhoun. She married Alfred Ervin Claxton in Ware, Illinois, Union County on March 29, 1959. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Claxton is survived by her four daughters, Alice Brookheart and husband Jim, Marie Borum and husband Art, Ann Duncan and husband Bryan, and Pam Jessup and husband Joe; three brothers, Pat Calhoun, Wayne Calhoun, and Dale Calhoun; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse Alfred Claxton; three brothers, Richard Calhoun, Delbert Calhoun, and Don Calhoun; and sister Wanda Johnson.

She was owner of Avsco Crafts for 40 years. She was member of New Testament Baptist Church.

Per Mrs. Claxton wishes no visitation or service will be held.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Centralia Fireside House Activity or Alzheimer’s Association, and will be accepted at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia, who is in charge of arrangements.
