GenKota Winery shut its doors February 1. The winery, which sits right at Interstate 57 and Interstate 64, first opened in December, 1997.

Owners say they’ve begun weighing several options for the winery. Right now, they have the building for sale, which has already drawn interest from several groups looking to expand the winery into a restaurant and brewery.

According to FoodMarketMaker, the Amish-built winery overlooks two-acres of growing vineyard, with a wrap-around covered deck.

Genkota’s wines won several awards, including dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet to sweet and port covering the spectrum of reds, blushes and whites.
