JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — Marilyn L. Jones “Nana”, 77, of Jacksonville, Ark., formerly of Centralia, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, 2014 at Cabot Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cabot, Ark.
She was born on August 1, 1937 in Fairbury, Nebraska the daughter of Harry H. and Mildred M. (Shook) Kugel. She married William E. Jones on May 10, 1959 at St. Peters United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, William D. Jones and wife Rebecca of Central City; daughter, Denise D. Jones of Jacksonville, Ark; brother-in-law, Robert E. Jones of Alabama; two sisters, Carol Stanford of Earlville; Betty Humphrey and husband Jerry of Davenport, Iowa; sister-in-law, Helen Kellogg; two grandchildren, William A. Jones and Jessika L. Jones both of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandparents, and niece, Tammie R. Humphrey.
She was wife, mother and awesome grandmother. She grew up in Centralia but moved all over with her husband who was in military. She was member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post #2055 & American Legion. She was also Member of George M. Nelms Post #446 & Auxiliary. She received Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Air Force.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, and will be accepted at the Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia, who is in charge of arrangements.
