Jury Rules ‘Blurred Lines’ Copied – Awards $7.3Mil

According to Page6, A jury has found that “Blurred Lines” co-creators Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams copied parts of Marvin Gaye’s 1977 hit “Got to Give It Up” and awarded $7.3 million to the late singer’s estate.

From previous reports, “Blurred Lines” raked in about $16 million in profits for its creators and record labels. Robing Thicke and Pharrell Williams made about $5 million each while T.I. pulled in around $700,000.

Nona Gaye (Gaye’s Daughter) said she now feels “free” from Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.”
