MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon police are investigating a Tuesday night incident that sent a local woman to the hospital after she was stabbed.

According to police reports, family members of Samantha Garrett say they believe they know who stabbed her. But as of Wednesday afternoon, police had not named a suspect.

Garrett was was taken to a Mt. Vernon hospital after she was stabbed in the stomach. The incident is still under investigation.
