MADISON COUNTY — Authorities are reporting one person is dead following a Sunday morning collision between a truck and an Amtrak passenger train in Madison County.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Sunday near Godfrey, with Madison County Coroner Steve Nonn confirming at least one fatality.

According to Amtrak officials, the train was running from San Antonio to Chicago when the collision happened.

None of the more than 250 passengers or crew of the train suffered injuries.

The identity of the person killed has not yet been released.
