WILLIAMSON COUNTY —  former employee in the Williamson County Circuit Clerk’s office has been sentenced to probation after she pleaded guilty to stealing thousands from the county.

In October, 2014, Cheryl Cundiff, along with Marsha Dickinson and Kelly Trammel, were accused of stealing more than $80,000 from the circuit clerk’s office by taking cash payments made by people bonding out of jail.

Investigators say the plot had been going on for more than five years.

Back in October, all three pleaded not guilty, but on Monday, Cundiff pleaded guilty to one Class 3 charge of official misconduct and one Class 1 charge of theft. She was ordered to pay $25,000 in restitution to Williamson County.

She paid $5,000 in court and will pay the remaining $20,000 over the period of probation.

Dickinson and Trammel will be back in court in April.
