CENTRALIA — The City of Centralia is prepared to demolish a long-time eyesore on the Centralia landscape.
The City Council Monday night approved a resolution that will see the city paying the $11,000 in back taxes owed on the property and then using City crews to demolish the Holiday Motel on North Poplar.
The City entered into an agreement with the property owner in that the city will pay the back taxes and the owner will then pay back the City, with the demolition allowing the property to be marketed for other purposes.
