Mabourne Hodge

ODIN — Mabourne J. Hodge, 79, of Odin, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home. He was born the son of Cecil and Hazel Hodge in Odin on October 20, 1935.  He married Jaqueline “Jackie” Hodge on October 20, 1979 in Odin and she preceded him in death on May 18, 2011.

picture-pubSurvivors include his son Kevin Hodge and wife Susan of Mt. Vernon; daughters Carla Hunter and special friend Jerry Brown of Walnut Hill and Laura Russell and husband Toby of Mt. Vernon; a step-son Mitch McMeen and wife Angie of Orchardville; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Shirley Green and Meveline Myers; and brothers Maurice Hodge, Everette Hodge, and Troy Hodge.

Mr. Hodge worked for the Odin Telephone Company for 18 years and was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Shriners organization. His favorite past time was dining out. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, especially the driver Jimmie Johnson.

Graveside services for Mabourne will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin with Brother Claude Howell officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at Day Macz Funeral Homes in Sandoval.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners. Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is in charge of arrangements.
