CENTRALIA — Earl E. McMillan, 89, of Centralia, passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Fireside House in Centralia.
He was born on August 1, 1925 in Terra Cotta, Illinois, the son of Earl and Ann M. (Rydquist) McMillan. Earl married Susan (Irwin) McMillan on January 2, 1982 in Elgin. She still survives in Centralia.
Mr. McMillan is survived by his wife; five sons Dan Pender and wife Sherry of California, Earl McMillan and wife Patricia of Lake Wood Ranch, Fla., Douglas McMillan and wife Betty of Huntley, Dennis McMillan and wife Verba of Azle, Texas, Richard McMillan and wife Diana of Poplar Grove; two daughters Margaret “Peggy” Babcock and husband Ron of Galene, Diane Guetschow and husband Steve of Palmetto, Fla.; step-son Kirk Cooper of Centralia; step-daughter Gail Cooper of Centralia; two sisters Ruth Uhlir of Lewisville, Colo, and Carol Grivett and husband Richard of Crystal Lake; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Lois McMillan; brothers Vernon, Robert, Ralph and Warren McMillan; and an infant brother,
He worked as a carpenter for 31 years. He moved to Centralia in 1989 from Carpentersville. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Sandoval. He was member of Carpenters Local 363 in Elgin. He served in the United States Army as Staff Sergeant from 1945-1947.
Mr. McMillan’s wishes were to donate his body to science. Private family services will be held at later date.
