Police seek help identifying woman found dead of gunshot wounds

BROOKLYN (AP) — Authorities are seeking the public’s help identifying a woman found dead with apparent gunshot wounds near strip clubs not far from the Illinois-Missouri border.
Investigators were called Monday evening after a railroad worker found the naked body lying in tall brush along a street in Brooklyn. Illinois State Police Lt. Dave Bivens tells the Belleville News-Democrat that it’s unclear how long the woman had been in the weeds.
Bivens says she’s a black woman believed to be in her 30s with medium to dark brown skin. He says the woman didn’t have any tattoos or identifying marks, other than a gold front tooth.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting death is asked to call the Illinois State Police.
