JEFFERSON COUNTY — Nearly 10 people have been arrested today in Jefferson County, after members of law enforcement swept through the county serving warrants in ongoing drug investigations by the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Joint Narcotics Unit.
A total of 20 people were being sought on drug related charges which are the results of approximately six months of investigations.
Of those warrants, 11 people were wanted on meth related charges, three were wanted on cannabis related charges, two people were wanted on prescription drug related charges, one on heroin related charges, and two people were wanted on crack cocaine related charges.
The nine people arrested are 24-year-old Zachary Jeremiah, 51-year-old John Phillips, 54-year-old Cotrell Richardson, 29-year-old Jonathon Graham, 34-year-old Williams Nabors, 53-year-old Clifton Moore, 29-year-old Anthony Shepherd, 48-year-old Dawn Akin, and 26-year-old Tequila Moore.
The investigations continue, and additional arrests are expected.
