Donna Rae Snider

PATOKA — Donna Rae Snider, 61, formerly of Patoka, currently of Odin, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

picture-pubShe was born the daughter of George R. Snider Sr. and Wanita Bell (Warren) Snider on July 8, 1953 in Centralia.

Survivors include sisters Bertha Hiatt of Jacksonville, Fla., Beverly Bloom of Sandoval, Judy Carruthers of Vera, Nancy Snider of Patoka, and Carolyn Wadkins of Odin, with whom she made her home for 22 years; 39 nieces and nephews; 61 great-nieces and nephews; 35 great-great nieces and nephews with a great-great nephew on the way in June; and three great-great-great nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Betty Rife; brother George “Bob” Snider Jr.; brothers-in-law Ed Hiatt, Bobby Bloom, Roy Carruthers, and Charles Wadkins; special nephew Mike Strong; sister-in-law Mary Ann Snider; one niece, and one great-great niece.

Donna was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Patoka. She enjoyed picture puzzles, word search books, and watching TV. Donna especially loved spending time with her family. She took joy in attending her nieces and nephews activities, as well as the activities of her Patoka Warriors and Mohawks. She never met a stranger and was always ready to greet you with a hug and a mint.

Day Macz Funeral Homes in Patoka is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Patoka Baptist Church and one hour prior to the service.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday April 26, 2015 at the Patoka Baptist Church with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
