MARION — The 34-year-old suspect in a Monday night deadly shooting has been arrested in White County, after his truck had been found in Hamilton county.

Jack Thomas Jr., was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Carmi home without incident.

Thomas faces three counts of first degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Michael Reed, who was shot several times Monday night outside a Marion home where he was reportedly visiting.

Reed was rushed to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

Allegedly there was no known history between the suspect and victim. Authorities say they were acquainted through a mutual friend.
