CLAY COUNTY — A 29-year-old Kinmundy man has been sentenced in Clay County Court, to two-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a meth-related conviction.
In addition to the two-year prison sentence, Matthew A. Stines, was ordered to serve a one-year period of mandatory supervised release, for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony.
Court documents show the charge arose when officers responded to a call reporting a possibly intoxicated driver.  Upon making contact with Stines and investigating further, it was discovered that Stines had in his possession less than five grams of a substance containing methamphetamine.
There were reportedly two individuals who called the police to report the vehicle Stines was driving, one of whom observed erratic driving, and another individual, who heard Stines admit he was intoxicated before getting behind the wheel.
