MARION COUNTY — Just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Marion County Coroner’s Office responded to a call in the 500 block of South Rotan in Salem, where the body of a 27-year-old man had been discovered.

According to Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon, Justin Davis had apparently been deceased for several hours before being discovered by a roommate.

Cannon says evidence at the scene suggests Davis had been inhaling substantial amounts of “canned air” aerosol and had also been using various other substances. Autopsy for Mr. Davis is planned for later this afternoon to determine a cause of death.

Investigation continues by the Coroner’s Office and the Salem Police Department.

A 59-year-old man had been dead approximately six days, when he was found earlier this week inside a Centralia home.

According to Cannon, an autopsy on Terry Lea of Marilyn Drive in Centralia showed no immediate signs of foul play. Cannon added that Lea had been in poor health, and was apparently deceased in the home for approximately six days before being reported to law enforcement.

Final autopsy results will be determined through pending microscopic and toxicology testing. Investigation into the death and circumstances continues by the Coroner’s Office and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies had responded to the home on a report that Lea’s daughter had attempted suicide. She was taken to Good Samaritan in Mt. Vernon for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning.
