BENTON — A 33-year-old West Salem woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to bank embezzlement charges filed in United States District Court in Benton.
Rachel J. Knasinski admitted in her guilty plea that from November 2011, to on or about January 9, 2015, as an employee she embezzled over $300,000 from the First State Bank of West Salem.
Knasinski faces a possible penalty of up to 30 years imprisonment, up to $1,000,000 fine, and supervised release of up to 5 years at her sentencing, which has been set for August 4, 2015, in United States District Court in Benton, Illinois.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
