CENTRALIA — Centralia first responders are asking motorists to give driving their full attention, after they responded to multiple serious accidents Monday.
 
The first accident sent a 37-year-old man to the hospital with a serious abdominal wound and resulted in west McCord at the VNA-TIP lot entrance being blocked to through traffic with first responders that included air-evac.
 
Later in the day, another accident resulted in entrapment, and still later, emergency personnel were called to an accident involving a young boy on a bicycle being struck by a vehicle.
 
Then late Monday night, a woman on a bicycle was reportedly struck and injured by a vehicle at McCord and Poplar near the CVS store, resulting in eastbound and southbound traffic being stopped as the injured person lay in the street.
 
Firefighters say they would never speculate how or why the accidents happened however, they did say, “We would like to take a second to remind you to slow down, give driving your full attention, please do not text and drive, use a designated driver, get to your destination in one piece.”
