HAZELWOOD, Mo. — Police say they have arrested a suspect in connection to the death of 19-year-old SIU-E student Taylor S. Clark.
24-year-old Michael Gordon has been charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.in connection with Clark’s death. Gordon is being held in the St. Louis County Jail, with bail set at $1 million.
Authorities say Clark posted his car for sale on Craigslist. Gordon and Clark connected on the site and agreed to meet Monday.
According to police, the two met in the parking lot of MTC trucking Center in 1200 block of Missouri Bottom Road in Hazelwood; Gordon is an employee of the trucking company.
Police say Clark was shot shortly after the two met while Gordon was on a lunch break and before Gordon tried to hide his body in a nearby wooded area. Gordon then returned to work.
Police later found Clark’s car in the trucking company parking lot and found his body nearby.
Authorities are still searching for Gordon’s car, which is described as a red 1990 BMW 325i with Missouri License Plate FL3Z9K. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hazelwood Police Department at 314-513-5225.
