Cleotha Archie

CENTRALIA — Cleotha Archie, 80 years old, of Centralia died Monday, May 4, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

She was born on May 15, 1934 in Belzoni, Miss., the daughter of Johnnie and Ollie Mae (Bell) Clark. She married Melvin Archie Archie picSr. in St. Louis, Mo in 1967.

Survivors include her daughter; Janis M. Burns of Centralia; three sons Oscar C. Archie and significant other Jessica of Centralia, Frederick E. Archie and wife Renee of Centralia, Timothy M. Archie and wife Linda of Marion; grandchildren Angelique M., Sebastion M., Austin C., Layton M., Alexavier R.E., and Payton M.; step-grandchildren Thea N., and Ian D.;great-granddaughter Shawntia L. and husband Ian A.; one great-great-granddaughter Cambria; great-great-grandsong Dereon L; sister Elizabeth Campbell of Indianola, Miss., Viola Fly of Centralia, Cora Hunter of St. Louis, Mo, and Gloria Wiggly of Jackson, Miss.; brothers Robert Shields of Las Vegas, Nev., Lee Manuel Shields of St. Louis, Mo, Sylvester Shields of St. Louis, Mo, Bobbie Lee Shields of St. Louis, Mo; and host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and family and friends.

Mrs. Archie was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Archie Sr.; parents- Johnnie and Ollie Mae Clark, Sisters- Geraldine Clark and Francis Bowmen; brother Ollie Shields; and granddaughter Teneva Archie.

Mrs. Archie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo and cooking. She was member of EOCC Church in Mt. Vernon. She had loving heart. She had open home that everyone called her “Shorty” or “Mamma” that everyone ate out of her kitchen. She was very generous to everyone. She worked at Rockwell for 20 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1  p.m. on Monday at the EOCC Church in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Garry Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood cemetery in Centralia.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Monday at the church.
