CENTRALIA — Rev. Lovery Dean Davenport, 82, of Centralia passed away, Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Good Samaritan Regional Health in Mt. Vernon.
He was born May 18, 1932 in Centralia, the son of John and Ann (Coleman) Davenport. He married Virgie (Scott) Davenport on February 20, 1960 in Centralia, and she preceded him in death on October 5, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters Lori Davenport-Johnson and husband Danny of Round Rock, Texas, and Shirl Davenport, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Danny Jr, Nicholas, Brandon,and Liya; four sisters Jane Miles and husband Faye of Colorado, Sharry Davenport, of Centralia, Shirley Weathersby, of Centralia,and Mary Davenport of Centralia.
Lovery was preceded in death by his parents John and Ann Davenport; sisters Loretta Whitelow, Rosetta Davenport, Verma Brown, and Viola Poore.
Mr. Davenport was member and Co-Pastor of Second Baptist Church. He was also a butcher. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church in Centralia, with Rev. Isaac Parker officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Military Honors will be accorded by V.F.W. Post #2055 and American Legion Post #446.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church. Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of services.
