CLINTON COUNTY — Clinton County authorities have identified a 28-year-old New Memphis man who drowned early Tuesday morning, when his truck was swept away in flood waters near Damiansville.
Gustavo Sotelo-Andrade was on his way to work around 5:30 Tuesday morning, when approximately 75 yards south of Airport Road his 1999 GMC Sierra pickup truck was swept from a flooded roadway into a field covered with approximately 8-10 feet of water.
Witnesses saw Andrade’s truck get swept away, but emergency responders weren’t able to locate his truck until around 11:30 a.m.
Emergency responders couldn’t see the vehicle because it was submerged, but a rescue team was able to spot the car using a boat.
The truck was removed from the water with the use of a track hoe around 1:10 pm. Tuesday and Andrade’s body was found inside. Clinton County Coroner Phillip Moss pronounced him dead at the scene.
