SANDOVAL — Idell Lorenne Warren, 88, of Sandoval, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 surrounded by her family and friends at home.
She was born the daughter of George Dewey Stanley and Clara (Hasler) Stanley on August 14, 1926 in Clay County. She married Louis “Gene” Warren on April 6, 1964 in Waterloo. He passed away on December 5, 2002.
Survivors include daughters Lola Irene Strom and spouse Thomas of Gardner, Kansas and Tonita “Toni” Warren of Maryville; son Dewey L. Shick Jr. and spouse Claudia of Sumner; sister Flodenne Maas of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren Kenneth, Grace, Anthony, Amanda, Ryan, and Jeanna; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sisters Tonita Waier and Ione McCoppin, and granddaughter Ayren Suzanne Shick.
Idell had many pastimes including, quilting, tending to her flower gardens, sewing, making homemade candy, cooking, baking, and making crafts. Idell loved people. She adopted everybody and never met a stranger.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Day Macz Funeral Homes in Sandoval and one hour prior to the service. A vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday with Father Dale Maxfield officiating.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Day Macz Funeral Homes in Sandoval. Pastor Kent Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sandoval Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sandoval Fire Department or the American Heart Association.
