MARION COUNTY — A 22-year-old Salem man pleaded guilty today to multiple charges against him, including felony residential burglary, and was entered into the Marion County Drug Court program.

Brian K. Coleman pleaded guilty to Class 1 felony residential burglary, as well as to misdemeanor charges of retail theft and theft, in exchange for entering the Drug Court Program.

He was arrested on the charges after an investigation by Salem police revealed Coleman had stolen a wallet from a Salem man while at the man’s home playing video games. The wallet, along with several social security cards, money orders, X-Box games and cell phones were recovered from a room where Coleman had been staying.

Some of those items were connected to a January 24 residential burglary in Salem. Coleman was then identified as a suspect captured on video surveillance at the Walmart in Salem stealing a CD.

A charge of misdemeanor criminal trespass in another case was dismissed per the plea agreement.
