MOUNT VERNON — The loss of a contract is causing layoffs at Continental Tire in Mount Vernon.
The 4M Building Solutions lost its janitorial agreement. Officials hope the new service will retain many of the 182 people being pink-slipped.
Mount Vernon Mayor Mary Jane Chesley said yesterday the change occurs on June 30th.
