OAKDALE — A Monday morning fire in Washington County caused extensive damage to an Oakdale restaurant, leaving owners to say they won’t reopen for a while.
The fire at the Country Kitchen was reported around 8 a.m. Monday, as heavy smoke could be seen coming from the building. The Coulterville Fire Department was joined by the Nashville Fire Department, Tilden Fire Department, Addieville Fire Department and Okawville Fire Department in knocking down the fire.
According to the Nashville Fire report, the cause could be electrical, as the restaurant was closed at the time. The origin seemed to be in the main food preparation area, but there is extensive damage inside due to smoke, heat and water. No injuries were reported.
