JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 32-year-old Bluford man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the armed robbery of a Union County nursing home.

Adam J. Trax was sentenced after he pleaded guilty Wednesday in Union County Court to one count felony armed robbery.

According to reports from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, in the early morning hours of June 10, 2013, while armed with a knife, Trax entered the front door of the Jonesboro Rehabilitation Center & Healthcare Center, located on State Route 127 South, and told employees to open locked containers of prescription drugs. Reports indicate he left the nursing home with nearly $900 in prescription drugs.

He was indicted by a Union County Grand Jury in September of 2013 and extradited from Pennsylvania in May of 2015 by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
