NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Firefighters in northern Illinois have rescued a couple and their dog from the fast-moving DuPage River after their kayak capsized.

It was the fourth time in as many days that emergency crews from Naperville had to save boaters from the river despite warnings about the depth and swift currents that resulted from recent heavy rains.

The Naperville Sun reports that Friday’s rescue took place in a section of the river near Pioneer Park.

Assistant Fire Chief Rick Sander says the couple, in their 50s, and their pet dog were all wearing flotation devices.

Swift water rescue swimmers guided them to shore. No one was injured.
