ODIN — Rodney Dee Hardy, 54, of Odin passed away at his home on Sunday, June 21, 2015. He was born June 27, 1960, in Centralia, the son of Billy Dee Hardy and Blanch (Winkler) Hardy.
Mr. Hardy is survived by son Curtis Hardy of Odin; step-daughter Heather Grey of Nashville; step-son Aaron Grey and wife Taylor of Salem; mother and father Bill and Blanch Hardy of Odin; brother Rick Hardy and wife Gloria of Centralia; sister Barbie and Claude Howell of Odin; step-grandchildren Annabelle and Piper; and several nieces and nephews.
Rodney was a Gold Level mechanic/technician at Max Dye in Salem. He enjoyed drag racing at the 157 drag strip and participating in races. He also helped his friends work on their cars. Rodney was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a trustee for the Odin Village Board and Odin Fire Protection District. Rodney was a friend to everyone.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin and one hour prior to the service.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin. Brother Claude Howell will officiate. Interment will follow at the Peaceful Valley Cemetery.
