CARBONDALE — Police are looking for a man suspected of impersonating a police officer.

The Carbondale Police Department says it received a report of someone impersonating an officer around 9:30 a.m. Monday near the intersection of West Main Street and New Era Road.

The victim reported the suspect was driving a blue, late model, full-size 4×4 truck which had a “Bomb Squad” door logo on it.
The suspect was reportedly traveling east on West Main Street behind the victim’s vehicle when the front lights on the suspect’s vehicle began flashing in an alternating pattern.
The victim believed she was being stopped by a law enforcement officer and pulled into a parking lot in the 1100 block of West Main Street.

The victim says a man got out of the truck and talked to her about her vehicle before leaving east on West Main Street in his truck.

She described the suspect as a 50-year-old white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, about 200 pounds. She said he was wearing glasses and had blond hair, which was graying on the sides.

The suspect was last seen wearing jeans, sneakers and a navy blue shirt with the same “Bomb Squad” logo on the chest of the shirt. The suspect did not attempt to harm the victim.
