EAST ST. LOUIS — A 29-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to 4 ½ years in federal prison after he earlier pleaded guilty to meth-related charges.

Jeffrey A. Kirkman was sentenced in federal court to 54 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to all charges against him in a 2014 federal indictment.

He was sentenced on two counts distribution of methamphetamine, and one count possession of pseudoephedrine, knowing or having reason to know it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine.

The offenses occurred in Marion County. Information leading to the charges against Kirkman was obtained in an investigation conducted by the FBI, along with the Marion County and Clinton County sheriff’s offices.
