Man reportedly shot Friday in Mt. Vernon

MOUNT VERNON — Police have reportedly taken two people into custody in connection with the shooting Friday in of a 40-year-old Mt. Vernon man.

Police say Jerry W. Gill was shot around 11 a.m. Friday at a home in the 900 block of South 24th Street in Mt. Vernon. He was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon for treatment. His condition is not yet known.

Search warrants have been issued for the home and property as police continue to investigate.
